Stop scratching
I know that you are aware that the tattoo making process hurts, what you may not be so aware of is the fact that after you get it your skin will keep on hurting, at least for a few days or so.
Scabs may form and not a very pleasant itching sensation may develop. Many tattoo artists are experts in applying the right kind of treatment to the skin immediately after the tattoo was done.
Unfortunately this is not always the case. You wouldn’t believe how many “traditional” means of healing scabs you will find. Just about any tattoo artist has his own. As a first rule though they all recommend you to never scratch. Easier said than done.
There are a few tricks though that can help. First of all treat your tattoo like it is a bottle of good wine. Confused? Thought so. This means that you don’t want salt in it, that you want to keep it away from water at all times and most importantly that you don’t want to keep it in the sun. This is the infancy of your tattoo, it needs caring und understanding. Treat it wrong and it might develop blank spots, meaning that the ink might get drawn out and you will have some missing pieces.
The good part is that in the unfortunate case that this happens tattoo artists can very easily reeducate your tattoo and fill the missing spots, for a rather small fee too. If this critical period passes, than the tattoo will become fully grown and will be able to take care of itself. Kids, they grow so fast. They only need 3 months you know?
